Patrick Kayako
Patrick joined the stable of artists represented by Gallery Watatu in 1993. The artist has subsequently been greatly assisted by the Watatu Foundation who provided him with both materials and encouragement. His current ambition is to participate in international exhibitions.

His paintings in oil use bold simplified forms to portray simple scenes of everyday life. A unique feature of his painting is the distinctive shape he gives to the heads of his subjects, which, combined with their evocative gestures reflect emotional qualities that are always gentle and understated and seldom violent. He was among the winners of the East African Art organized by the East African Industries in conjunction with Gallery Watatu in 1994.
